舊金山 (Сан-Франциско)

Давно хотел узнать, но боялся спросить
Etymology

The name refers to the gold rush in the 19th century, and "old" is in comparison to the "New Gold Mountain" (新金山) of Melbourne, Australia. (金山 being used loosely for any place of great chances for wealth, in a similar fashion to the English "gold mine".)
